Cast Iron Kazan Cauldron – A Traditional and Versatile Helper for Every Outdoor Kitchen

The classic cast iron Kazan cauldron is an indispensable tool for preparing authentic Uzbek plov, hearty stews, rich soups, and juicy meat dishes. Thanks to its thick walls and hemispherical design, heat is distributed evenly throughout the pot, ensuring slow and perfect simmering that brings out the deep, smoky flavor of your dishes.

The Kazan pot is ideal for use on a specialized Kazan stove, over an open fire, or on a grill.

Why Choose a Cast Iron Kazan?

• Excellent Heat Conductivity and Retention: The thick cast iron walls heat up evenly and retain heat for a long time, making it easy to both sear and stew food.

• Hemispherical Bottom: The traditional rounded shape ensures that heat does not just come from below, but is distributed evenly up the sides. This prevents food from burning at the bottom and ensures even cooking.

• Natural Non-Stick Coating: Properly seasoned cast iron develops a natural patina that improves with every use, preventing food from sticking without any chemical coatings.

• Built to Last for Generations: High-quality cast iron is virtually indestructible. With proper care, it will last for decades and only get better with age.

Use and Care:

• First-Time Preparation (Seasoning): Heat the pot for 10–15 minutes until smoking stops. Then heat coarse salt in the pot for 5–10 minutes until the salt changes color. Allow the pot to cool down, then coat the inside surface with a thin layer of cooking oil.

• Cleaning: Wash the pot with warm water. Do not use dish soap and do not wash in a dishwasher. Detergents strip away the natural protective layer of the cast iron, causing food to stick.

• Storage: After washing, dry the pot thoroughly and lightly coat the entire surface with cooking oil to prevent rust formation.
